Hulling

Taking the husks off walnuts have come a long way from taking them off by hand.  We currently run at 20 tons per hour.  All nuts are electronically sorted with dual asperation to insure the removal of 99.9% of off grade walnuts.

 

Dehydration

After the walnuts are hulled they need to be dehydrated. 50 years ago drying was done by lying walnuts out in the sun, taking a few days. Today our facility has 40 pot driers, 66 stadium driers, and two 35 ton tanks. We can dry approximately 300 tons of walnuts to their optimum moisture per day. *

All  dryers are equipped with electronic moisture meters. These meters send moisture levels to our office computers and our PDA's for constant monitoring.
